Abstract
The contribution states that situation of psychologically diseased seniors is a complicated and ignored topic. The Czech Republic prepares a reform of psychiatric care and it should comprise also the seniors in psychiatric hospitals.
According to this reform the young people with psychiatric diseases should be placed in specific community centres outside psychiatric hospitals and institutions, however, it seems that seniors should stay in psychiatric hospitals and that´s why we should pay an increased attention to them. At present time, when the Czech psychological medicine is confronted with a lack of finances, the mentally disordered seniors complain about a lack of privacy, they don’t want to be passive objects between their doctors and their relatives, who decide about their fate.
