Abstract
The author of the paper deals with the topic of writing in teaching the Czech language for foreigners. In the introduction she defines writing and presents its characteristic features.
She draws attention to the importance of its involvement in home preparation but also in the process of teaching at school. In the following sections she highlights the need to convince students about the usefulness of writing skills at all levels according to CEFR.
She also offers activities to overcome the resistance and reluctance to writing, to involve imagination and mentions various supportive means. In the last part she outlines the possibilities of using not only traditional "pen and paper" tools but also modern interactive devices.
