Possibilities and Limits of Implementing Mobile Technology in Education

Abstract

Technological boom of contemporary information society has been raised by quick development of mobile devices in recent years. Notebooks, communicators, smartphones, tablets, e-book readers etc. have become common equipment for not only adults but also students.

Moreover, 1:1 technology offers a lot of advantages which enable involving alternative methods such as individualised or cooperative education. This paper is therefore focused on using chosen mobile technology in education in the Czech Republic.

In the first part of the paper, a survey targeted on mobile technology availability and its usage in education is presented. On the basis of proven information possibilities and limits in using this technology is discussed in the second half.

Not only availability, but also functions used by students are considered to be the data.
