Abstract
The chapter presents existing research related to development in the hinterland of Czech cities. Most attention is paid to the Prague metropolitan region, where the proces is developing with the greatest intensity.
The text deals with the various aspects of the proces: its scope, localization, developments stages, structure, consequences and actors. In the concluding section, the author reflects on the possibilities of using the research results in planning practice.
