Abstract

Medieval particular schools and universities were teaching Latin and at the same time they used Latin as a teaching language. Until the reformation broke the monopoly of Latin.

In 1784 German language took the place of Latin at the Prague-University too. Early fifties of the 19th century brought important assumptions for development of science in Czech language.
