Vincenc Zapletal OP: a half-forgotten Czech scientist. A Catholic biblical scholar in the times of crisis

Abstract

This study brings an outline of life and work of an important Catholic exegete of Czech origin, Fr Vincenc Zapletal OP (1867-1938), who taught at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. The study gives a hint on the scientifical contribution of a scholar who was considered in his times the most important Catholic bible scholar writing in German
