The aim of this study has been to fill some major gaps in knowledge of artistic material in our public collections. This means that it is above all a scholarly work focused on correct attribution of drawings, the identification of original drawings executed by master draughtsmen as against workshop replicas or later conventional copies, and the location of these works in the context of their time.
The Tuscan drawings from Czech public collection are just segment of a far larger group of works of art and therefore cannot provide a complete characterization of the period in question. Nonetheless, they are offer some insight into the art of the period
