Abstract
This article examines the relationship among human beings and animals from a theological and ethical point of view. It beginns with a survey of this topic in the books of Old and New Testament and considers main issues like making animal sacrifices, killing animals for food etc.
The article continues with an overview of crucial „animal“ themes in general (extinction, killing and eating, medical research), which are connected with a set of broader ecological problems
