Abstract

The problem of evil is a Christian one by nature and in a truly christian perspective it comes down to a problem of „malicious“ (lukavyj). The prevailing view of religious thinkers of the Eastern Church on the nature of evil is regarded as a deficeincy, flaw, imperfection.

The Fathers are convinced that there is no evil in nature evil relates not to the substantial aspect, but to a personal, individual one; evil is a certain state of the nature’s will; evil is a revolt against God,i.e., a personal attitude. It means that evil originates in the freedom of creation.
