Using interviews with two of former pastors, this article describes the development of the largest Czech Faith Movement community. It started in 1987 as young non-conformists were converted by an African Pentecostal missionary.
This group formed a new (and illegal) church several months before democratic revolution. After revolution in 1989, this church was attracted by Swedish missionaries and became closely connected to the Swedish Faith Movement church The Word of Life (established by Ulf Ekman).
Finally, the church embraced not only the Faith Movement theology but even the name „Slovo zivota“ (The Word of Life) in 1995.
