Abstract

This review book gives a very good analysis of ways of assessment in the UK. Testing English considers why English is such a difficult subject to assess summatively and takes the view that English is an arts subject rather than one which is quantifiable and assessable objectively.

This book is especially focused on assessment of learning (formative assessment) in a broader context and it offers the experience of teachers and pupils with using of formative assessment.
