The application of the concept of totalitarianism, the communist systems: general problems and the Czech specifics

Abstract
In this paper I present the reasons why it is the communist systems, at least in certain periods, which is closest to totalitarianism as an ideal type by Max Weber. With reference to authors such as Bertrand Badie, Ernest Gellner, Pierre Kende and Jean Leca point out that the communist system in history occurs in a wide variety of cultural, economic and other contexts and significantly totalitarian tendencies therefore can not be adequately explained allegedly unfavorable terrain experiment .
