The changes of postural stability were assessed on the sample of women (n=11) of the average age of 69,1 + 4,17 yr. These women were tested according to the age and the variations of feet positions in 30s tests with eyes open in tree years interval.
On average, the older women showed higher (p<0.05) lateral and anterior/posterior sway velocity and stabilogram area in the test with feet together in comparison with the younger group. After tree years postural stability of older women didn't decreased in the test with feet apart.
This study indicate that the sway velocity and stabilogram area in the more difficult tests enable to evaluate the postural stability. Stability of posture is important for good mobility, to reduce a great number of injury, etc.
For that reason it is convenient to add the exercises of stability to the senior-program.
