Measurement of total body water (TBW), extracellular water (ECW) and intracellular water (ICW), lean body mass (LBM), body cell mass (BCM) and extracellular mass (ECM) were measured at four frequencies - 1, 5, 50 and 100 kHz in group of 125 children differing in age (range of 6-14 years) and fitness status ( maximal oxygen uptake ranged from 35 to 61 ml). Age dependent relationships slightly differ from the similar relationships in adults of the same fitness status.

According to collected data, we conclude that measurements of the whole-body impedance at only four frequencies could be used for the determination of body composition in children.
