Abstract
The aim of the study was to find out personal and sports characteristics of present coaches of the handicapped sportsmen. Our hypothesis has been confirmed that the majority of handicapped sportsmen's coaches got the coaching licence in the sphere of healthy sport or they are working without coaching qualification in the specialization having been practised by them as sportsmen.
In their coaching practice with the handicapped they above all come out of their own experience accommodated to this sphere. They consider lack of finance and expert literature the most important problem in their work and also insufficient managing activity of sports unions of the handicapped sportsmen.
