It appears that military region territory with extensive building activity involving mainly flats (former military region Mladá and Ralsko) is nowadays attracting new residents, especially young people starting their family life.

There is observed high level of net migration, natural increase and low mean age of inhabitants in such territories. In former military region Dobrá Voda was minimal construction activity and due to preserved nature the territory was included in Šumava National Park in 1991.

The population in area of former military region Dobrá Voda decreased because of emigration and mean age is there very high at the moment.
