City development in Central and Eastern Europe before 1990 : historical context and socialist legacies

Abstract

The chapter is an analysis of the main historical trends in urban developments in Central and Eastern Europe especially of the urbanization process in socialist countries and of changes in the intra-urban structures caused by socialism.
