Agricultural land losses in Czechia since 1990 from the perspective of data from cadastre and CORINE Land Cover

Abstract

Agricultural land (especially arable land) losses represent the main trend of landscape development in Czechia after 1990. Researchers' attention has been paid rather to the loss of agricultural land in the vicinity of large cities due to residential and commercial suburbanization.

Therefore, we will focus primarily on extensification processes in the Czech countryside: grassing, afforestation and abandonment of agricultural land. The main objective is to evaluate the regional patterns of these processes.
