Surgical treatment of renal carcinoma

Abstract

Surgery is the basis of treatment of localized kidney cancer. Recently there is a trend to expand the indications for nephronsparing surgery in the category T1b-T2 for localized kidney tumours, namely in tumors over 4 cm, if technically possible.

The second trend is a significant expansion of less invasive procedures, particularly laparoscopy. The single-port access is being tested.
