Abstract

Plato believed in common ownership, so did the first church and most recently also communists (how this religious and spiritual belief became secular is another, quite interesting, topic). Aristotle came up with advocacy of private property and demonstrated it on one of the oldest economic theories, the so called "Tragedy of the Commons".

If something (a pasture for example) is in common property, it gets overused and the care is neglected.
