Abstract
Fetish could be described as something that promises you the way to freedom, meaning, true self, satisfactioin, joyassance, (sexual or other) fulfilment, inner peace and so on, b ut at t h e s a m e ti m e stands in its way. It is a promise of the road to salvation a n d also an obstacle that blocks us from achieving it, a stumbling block on the way.
A way, but also a closed door. Fetishized object promises excess joyassance, but, in fact, it steals it.
Fetish is not the real thing, but a representation, a proxy
