A novel, cellulose synthesis inhibitory action of ancymidol impairs plant cell expansion

Abstract

Ancymidol is known as an anti-gibberellin (GA) inhibitor. In our work we showed that ancymidol possesses also another, so far unreported effect as an cellulose inhibitor, unrelated to its anti-GA activity.
