On the dimension of the attractor for the wave equation with nonlinear damping

Abstract

We consider the wave equation in a bounded 2 or 3d domain, where the damping and the lower-order nonlinearity are polynomial functions of certain growth. We estimate the dimension of the exponential attractor explicitly in terms of the data of the equation.
