We report the stabilization of the Sn-2 diorganotin(IV) dication [Ph(L-1)Sn(mu-OH)(2)Sn(L-1)Ph](2+)(1-CB11H12)(-)(2) (2), where L-1 is 1-{2,6-(MeOCH2)(2)C6H3}, which in contrast to the rare analogues prepared thus far does not contain a coordinated water
