Vulcanoids, the Yarkovsky effect and Mercury´s cratering record

Abstract

We examine whether the Yarkovsky effect, a thermal radiation force perturbation resulting in semimajor axis drift, is strong enough to deplete the material from the intra-mercurian (vulcanoid) zone in the Solar System.
