Daphnia in the Tatra Mountain lakes: multiple colonisation and hidden species diversity revealed by molecular markers

Abstract

We explored the species diversity of the Daphnia longispina group in lakes of the Tatra Mountains using DNA methods. Three species were observed, including D. lacustris, likely a relict species.
