Daphnia galeata in the deep hypolimnion: spatial differentiation of a <<typical epilimnetic>> species

Abstract

In a canyon-shaped reservoir, we observed a non-migrating deepwater subpopulation of Daphnia galeata, genetically differentiated from the main populaiton. This pattern was stable over two consecutive years.
