Effect of NH4+/NO3- availability on nitrate reductase activity and nitrogen accumulation in wetland helophytes Phragmites australis and Glyceria maxima

Abstract

The importance of nitrate in mineral nutrition of two common wetland helophytes was assayed via detection of nitrate reductase activity. Plant performance and NR activity in different organs under varying NH4+/NO3- external availability were followed.
