Abstract
The article is reviewing the conference in Paris the aim of which was to discuss the monograph of french, polish, slovak and czech sociologists 'The Change of System and Modernisation'. The monograph is assessing the transformations in the post-socialist countries from the point of view of modernisation concepts.
