The Waldstein Family in the baroque Duchcov

Abstract

The members of the bohemian noble family of Waldstein were the manorial lords of the town Duchcov in northern Bohemia and they influenced the face of this town in the 17th and 18th centuries. They went down in the building and urbanial history of the town (for example the construction of the castle and the main church) and they supported the economic life in the whole domain bordering upon Saxony.

The mutual cooperation between the Waldsteins and the burghers made the economic centre of Duchcov.
