Abstract
The author examines the current state of historical research in the field of tourism. She considers tourism as an interdisciplinary subject, ie as a frontier area in which various concepts and methods of social sciences meet.
Subsequently, she provides examples of studies, published mostly by Czech historians, who deal with this topic in an interdisciplinary way. Finally, the author mentions concepts, suitable for tourism research, that have not been used in any historical research yet.
