The subject of this study is a aviatic Lieutenant Rudolf Němec (1897-1969). During WW1 he served as NCO pilot with No 63 Fighter Air Company of the Austro-Hungarian Air Service in the Italian Front.
After the war he became one of the most appreciated military flying instructors as well as one of the most popular members of the Czechoslovak Air Force. In 1938, when he left active service, he was commisioned and promoted to the officers rank.
It was exceptional honour.
