The study represents a set of health (dietetic) manuals from the Late enlightened period (Catechisms of health) and tries to analyze the way they explain the body, essentially with a stress on the outstanding galenic-hippocratic humoral model, ancient dietetic (Sex res non naturales - Six "unnatural" things) and hippocratic "environmentalism" (influence of the environment on the human health), but also with a special view at the new "bourgeois" concepts of (bodily and moral) purity.
