Turkey at a Crossroads : United States Foreign Aid to Turkey in the Years 1947-1948

Abstract

This study deals with the circumstances of granting and distribution of the U.S. aid provided to Turkey under the Truman Doctrine of 1947. The support of the U.S. allowed Turkey to repel the Soviet pressure and to maintain its independence.
