Beginning of Cuban Involvement in Africa

Publication

Abstract

The Contribution pursued the Beginning of Cuban Involvement in Africa after Fidel Castro took ruling in his own hands in January 1959. The Cuban Government sent in the former French and Portuguese colonies the largest medical, material and millitary help of all Latin American countries and influenced some local conflicts - mainly the Algerian struggle for independence from France and Guinea-Bissau's struggle for independence from Portugal.
