Abstract
The text analyses the content of the theme of a sentence according to a producer ́s attitude to the reality and the way how this topic is transmitted to elementary school children. It mentions problematic aspects and the necessity of novel didactic solution.
It suggests to integrate the theme of communicative function of the utterance into the elementary school curriculum, as it corresponds to a pragmatic requirements of communicative approach in Czech language education.
