Grammaticalization, language typology and intentional language contact

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2011

Abstract

The paper deals with grammaticalization theory and discusses its relation to Prague language typology, especially in the way described by Jaroslav Popela. It shows further that intentional language contact is an important factor in the development of some standard languages and may change the standard language in a typologically relevant way.
