The paper summarizes knowledge about teaching molecular biology methods at high schools. Electrophoresis is one of the most used among them and therefore the project introduces the principle of SDS-PAGE and its potential use.
In this paper I describe tested proposal of laboratory task for high school students. The project includes preparation of samples, separation of proteins, use of SDS-PAGE followed by protein visualization.
The project may be done in subjects chemistry and/or biology, for example within the purview of seminar and may lead to expansion of molecular methods at high schools.
