While mainstream culture perceive homelessness as difficult unwilling life-situation, which has to be solute as fast as possible, homeless persons perceive their own situation in many cases as kind of living, which is not supposed to be changed. Deeper exploration of previous life of homeless people can reveal high level of difficulties, they perceived in „normal life“.
Hence, from some point of view, homelessness can be seen as a coping strategy, which helps to manage previous overwhelming tensions. Ground of this report is description of identity processes of substitution mainstream´s norms and values by norms and values created by homeless subculture.
When homeless person accepts a new “homeless-identity”, its life became more meaningful. But on the other hand, adoption of this new identity makes life of this person more irreversible.
