Social deprivation in urban environment: objective and subjective dimension

Publication

Abstract

The exhibition presents research on various aspects of social deprivation in Czech cities. It introduces the results of a four-year research project granted by the Czech Science Foundation.

The exhibition presents the main goals and outcomes of the project, the approaches to the evaluation of social deprivation, examples of empirical research and case studies and also main publications of the project. Social deprivation is analysed using two complementary research approaches: statistical data describing urban environment and perception of actors in urban development and local residents.

The posters presented at the exhibition are devoted not only to objective and subjective dimension of deprivation, but also to more specific issues, such as crime, urban aging, migration, segregation, or daily urban rhythms.
