Abstract
Author of the chapter discusses the requirements for a good constitution and the preparation of the Constitution of the Czech Republic, which in difficult times define the Czech Republic as a sovereign democratic state built on the civic principle, the history of the proven values of liberty, equality and human dignity, respect for human rights. The author expresses more of a situation in which the constitution adopted in a hurry, just did not reflect the beliefs which direction we should all face together.
