Abstract

We evaluated acute and chronic cardiotoxicity of anthracyclines with plasma glycogen phosphorylase BB (GPBB) measured by ELISA. We found that acute leukemia patients treated with anthracycline-based chemotherapy have significantly higher plasma GPBB concentrations in comparison with healthy subjects and GPBB after treatment correlated with diastolic left ventricular dysfunction on echocardiography.
