Information Literacy Research among Students of Bachelor´s Non-Medical Studies at the 1st Medical Faculty, Charles University in Prague
Abstract
The presentation summarizes results of information literacy research among students of non-medical specialities of bachelor´s studies that was conducted at 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University in October and November, 2013. The goal was to find out how the students look for information, which types of resources they prefer, how they evaluate their actual abilities and knowledge when looking for scientific information, how they perceive information literacy lessons at 1st Medical Faculty and which superstructural services of Library of 1st Medical Faculty and General University Hospital they use.
The research compares particular responses of newly admitted students to the first grade who started studying subject “Introduction to Scientific Research”, and those at the second and third grade who had already passed this subject.
