"They Were Fascist Murderers Supported by International Capitalism!" : Lidice in the Remembrance Culture and in the Communist Propaganda of the 1950´s and 1960´s.

Abstract

The study describes how Lidice was presented in the remembrance culture shortly after the end of the Second World War and during the Communist era. The fact, that "American Imperialists" were marked as the perpetrators of the tragedy of Lidice in the 1950´s is analysed, together with the way in which Lidice was used in the official propaganda.
