The aim of the study: Determine subjectively perceived health status and psychosomatic problems in a representative sample of Czech children and to compare monitored variables with respect to the children's place of residence, gender, and age. Almost 90 % of Czech children rated their health status as excellent or good.
More than one tenth of the children perceived their health status as not very good or as poor. The relationship between subjective evaluation of the children's health status and gender was found to be statistically significant.
Girls evaluated their health status more negatively than boys. We did not find a statistically significant relationship between the children's evaluation of their health status, age, and place of residency.
