Aim of the study was to confirm the correlation between the type of amplitude - integrated EEG trace and the level of brain damage in newborns after hypoxia event. The aEEG traces were analyzed using the Hellström-Westas clasification.
The level of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy was evaluated according to the Sarnat-Sarnat clasification. We confirmed the usefullness of aEEG monitoring in first hours after hypoxic insult in prediction of sabsequent hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
