Abstract

The aim of this study was to confirm the correlation between the type of amplitude-integrated EEG (aEEG) in neonates with perinatal asphyxia and the level of sabsequent hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. The aEEG was continually recorded with monitor CFM 6000 and clasified according to Hellström-Westas.

Grade of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy was evaluated according to Sarnat-Sarnat classification. We confirmed the usefullness of aEEG assesment in prediction of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
