Phenotypic and morphological characterization of in vitro oligodendrogliogenesis

Abstrakt

Neurospheres contain progenitors that express oligodendroglial markers. After seeding in special differentiation media supplemented with growth factors, 24.3% cells in the cultures belonged to cells of oligodendroglial cell lineage.

The cultured cells underwent stepwise differentiation that involved all developmental stages and matured in functional oligodendrocytes.
