Abstract

Stroke is the second frequent cause of mortality in both developed and developing countries worldwide. The authors present overview of the recent data collected from the region of Hradec Kralove, analyse logistical problems of appropriate medical care dedicated to strokes and suggest feasible improvement.

The aim of the complex care including both pre-hospital and hospital phases, is not only to reduce mortality, but mainly preserve self-sufficiency of the patients.
