Relationship of IL-6, IL-8, TNF and sICAM-1 levels to PROM, pPROM, and the risk of early-onset neonatal sepsis

Abstrakt

Cytokine levels and sICAM-1 are very good tests of the initiation of intra-amniotic infection and early onset neonatal sepsis. The purpose of the work was to calculate the probability of the infection by means of Bayes formula.

It was shown that the presence of any two positive test results is sufficient to reach probability of correct diagnosis above 90%.
